By Gary Jennings Part 2. In this, the second part of the series, I'm going totalk about the second step'Planning', and the third step "Beginning" Planning: When finally, what's in your head starts to takeshape on paper, it'sincredibly exciting to sit down and finally start to make plans. It's what I call committing imagination and belief to paper. The benefit of taking this crucial step is thatthe project that's sofar only existed in your imagination, starts to become real. This is because it'sso easy to make all the plans in the world in yourmind, but it's only a source of inspiration for a limited time. Transferring those plans to paper starts themagical process ofturning belief into reality, and commits you to action and gettingstarted. Now it's finally time to begin.... Beginning: Now you can say to yourself - "I'm on my new track, I've carved out formyself a new beginning. I'm leaving the old undisciplined part of mebehind, and I'm a new person.I've thought about it for long enough and I've finally startedtoday. I've begun" Now that is what I call an amazing source ofinspiration, and youcan't believe what can happen to your self esteem as a result. Many of us have already experienced this feelingbefore in our lives, and often the 'Beginning' step can be the first step of an excitingnew journey. It's also important to remember that beginningcan be many differentthings. You might decide to start your own library, onethat's going to be 'secondto none'. You've thought about it, and how wonderful itwould be, and you'vestarted to make plans. You've decided to make some extra spacein your room or home for an expanding library. What's so exciting, is that after 'Deciding','Planning' and then 'Beginning',you can now turn around and say "I bought the first bookof my new library today. This is just the first of many, the beginningof a whole new flow of information for me" As another example, you may have decided to learna new skill and you'vesigned up for a class such as Accounting. You've thought about it, you've decidedto do it, you've made some plansand time for it and now you're sitting there in the first class. So 'Beginning' is an incredible source ofinspiration, as is "Deciding"and "Planning", but again remember that "Beginning" only lasts so long. If you begin that first week but don't continue, yes you'll be inspiredby your progress, but all of that ' feel good ' factor willstart to fade away if you don't continue to Step 4 which iscalled "Progressing". Hopefully, this article has motivated yousufficiently to think aboutaccelerating your desire to improve your life in whatevermanner you choose. In the next article, we're going to make giantstrides forwardtogether as we talk about "Progressing" and "Achieving".
